Dark mode comes to VG247

We are happy to announce that today dark mode is finally available on VG247. We know — it’s about time. It’s something we’ve wanted to ship for ages, and something we’ve been asked for time and again. Now, whether you’re catching up on news at 2am, scanning patch notes during a late-night raid, or simply prefer a less retina-searing reading experience, the choice is yours.

You’ll find a new toggle in the site’s footer which allows you to switch between light and dark modes at your leisure. Choose what works best for you. Set it to “Auto” and the site will match whatever colour preferences you have set in your computer or phone’s operating system. We’ll remember your settings for next time, too.

We’ve put real thought into the design to make sure it feels good, works well, and keeps everything readable — even the particularly passionate comment threads. But if you spot anything looking off, or something slips through the shadows, let us know. We’re still fine-tuning.
