Fear not, Hollow Knight lovers worried about Switch 2 prices: Silksong will be available on the original Nintendo Switch as well

If you saw Hollow Knight: Silksong pop up at the Nintnedo Switch 2 direct last week and were at all worried about it coming solely to the upcoming Nintendo console, rather than the one you already know, fear not. A developer from Team Cherry has come forward to declare that Silsong will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2, as well as the original Switch.

Matthew Griffin. who handles marketing and publishing on Silksong for Team Cherry, took to Twitter to clear things up after some fans were a tad worried about their old Switch being potentially Silksong-less. He stated, “Just to clarify… Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to both Nintendo Switch AND the Nintendo Switch 2.” Nice and simple. He would then, in true Team Cherry fashion, dissapear into the mist and answer no more questions.

This is obviously good news for the thousands upon thousands of folks who own the Switch, and looked at the announced price of the Switch 2 and started tugging their collar a little bit. Especially given that pre-orders for that console were delayed in the US due to recently declared tariffs, buying it may prove a tad expensive for Silksong lovers. So hey, if you’re in the market for Silksong, why not buy an original Switch? It may be your cheapest option for a while…

It does seem like the Silksong train is picking up Steam somewhat. The Nintendo Switch 2 direct was the first bit of concrete news for a while, offering (gasp) new screenshots for the game courtesy of Nintendo. It’s not much, but it certainly beats what the community was dealing with, easter egg hunts around online cake recipies.

What platform do you think you’ll buy Silksong on? It should still be coming out on PC and Xbox platforms too. Let us know below!
